Esports in 2026 is packed with relentless action and an unprecedented level of competitive intensity among professional players. With several major tournaments already underway, more esports events are lining up this year, and it’s a perfect time for fans to mark their calendars.

The International – DOTA 2

The premier championship tournament in DOTA 2 returns to China this August 2026. Top teams from different regions, who qualify through regional and international qualifiers, will battle for this event to win and claim massive prize pools.

Various gaming squads are anticipated for their strong showing in the competition, including 2025 defending champions Team Falcons and other former participants. All-Filipino squad Team Nemesis, who previously played via Southeast Asia regional qualifiers, also brings potential to join the event again and possibly advance to further rounds.

Worlds 2026 – League of Legends

The biggest annual esports event in League of Legends is gearing up to be an exciting tournament from October 16 to November 14, 2026, with 18 of the world’s top teams set to compete for the championship title.

Many eyes will be on the South Korean esports organization, T1, as they remain dominant with their three-year championship titles. This would challenge the team in notching the victory and facing strong competition against the emerging contenders and ambitious squads. However, it will be thrilling to see whether T1 will reign as champions or if a new contender will dethrone them.

Counter Strike (CS2) Major Championships

The professional Counter-Strike scene continues its competitive tradition with two CS2 majors, where all participating teams will clash for large prize pools. The IEM Cologne Major 2026 will see 32 teams compete from June 2 to 21 in Germany. The second, PGL Singapore 2026, will be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium from November 25 to December 13.

Asian Games 2026

Scheduled from September 9 to October 4 in Japan, esports in the Asian Games 2026 will take center stage with its diverse mix of genres. National teams will gather to battle across competitive titles, showcasing their skill, strategy, and determination to make it to the top finish.

Esports Nations Cup

Set in Saudi Arabia in November 2026, the highly anticipated biggest esports tournament will raise the stakes with fiercer rivalries among professional players and teams from around the world.

2026 is set to ignite more excitement among fans with numerous major events, elevating the intensity and spectacle to a high level.
