The UAAP Season 88 Volleyball Tournament ended with De La Salle University’s triumphant return to the top, as the Lady Spikers swept the defending champion, the National University, in the decisive finals.

Two-Game March to Victory

With both teams carrying the pressure and championship aspirations, neither refused to back down throughout the final series. Game 1 saw how the NU Lady Bulldogs threw everything they had at the DLSU Lady Spikers to keep their place at the top, yet the latter responded with strong attacks and well-timed plays. This led to De La Salle’s 3-0 win, with scores 25-22, 25-19, 25-20.

The DLSU Lady Spikers continued to assert dominance in Game 2, while the NU Lady Bulldogs strived to show greater urgency and aggressiveness to extend the match. After an electrifying three-set game, De La Salle completely dethroned NU, 25-23, 25-18, 25-21, reclaiming their championship title for the season.

Closing the Season with Crown

Leading the charge for De La Salle was Shevana Laput, whose outstanding performances and 31-point championship showcase earned her the Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) award. Moreover, De La Salle’s spectacular sweep also marked their 13th UAAP Women’s Volleyball Championship under head coach Ramil de Jesus.

Powered by their strong teamwork and unwavering determination, the Season 88 champions De La Salle Lady Spikers finally capped off the season with a memorable campaign and another well-deserved title. This win not only ended NU’s championship run but also reaffirmed DLSU’s position as one of the dominant teams in collegiate volleyball.
