Formula 1 continues to deliver tight competition across the grid, with teams striving to build their own momentum during the mid-season run of the races. The May races concluded with a remarkable run by teenage sensation Kimi Antonelli, who delivered back-to-back wins for Mercedes at the Miami and Canadian Grand Prix.

Miami Madness

Kimi Antonelli turned the Miami Grand Prix into a statement performance, showcasing impressive speed and strategic racecraft against elite competition. Faced with intense pressure from established rivals Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc into Turn 1, Antonelli kept his composure throughout the race.

As the race progressed, Antonelli exchanged leads with Leclerc and later encountered a tense stint with Norris. However, the young Mercedes driver eventually regained control with a strong overtake against Leclerc and managed the race well despite a late challenge from Lando Norris.

Antonelli controlled the race to the finish, driving him to secure another win for Mercedes. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri came in second and third, respectively, for McLaren; George Russell finished fourth, while Max Verstappen recovered to fifth.

Montreal Mayhem

The action resumed as teams headed to Montreal for another intense clash at the Canadian Grand Prix. The reigning Italian champion, Antonelli, remained consistent despite other rivals, Verstappen and Norris, pushing hard to take the lead.

The race also added another tension and drama, as Antonelli found himself in a rare, heated encounter with teammate George Russell during the pit sequence. The latter showed a near-perfect performance, but his hopes shattered mid-race when the power unit suddenly failed on Lap 30.

This incident paved the way for Antonelli to take Mercedes over at the front to the finish line once again, leading him to secure his fourth consecutive win and further stretching his championship lead. Following Antonelli ranked in the top, Lewis Hamilton finished second, and Max Verstappen placed third.

Across the Miami and Canadian Grands Prix, both clearly showed Mercedes’ dominance on the grid with Kimi Antonelli emerging as a standout performer during the race weekends. With more races coming up, fans now turn their attention to wondering if his momentum can continue on the next round or if a non-Mercedes driver will soon break the team’s growing victory streak.
