Filipino MMA veteran Danny Kingad suffered the first knockout loss of his professional career after China’s Hu Yong, known as “Wolf Warrior,” stopped him in the opening round at ONE Fight Night 40 in Bangkok.

The flyweight clash unfolded inside the historic Lumpinee Stadium, where Hu delivered a dramatic turnaround late in the first round to secure the stoppage.

Kingad came into the bout determined to snap a two-fight skid and quickly imposed his grappling game. The Lions Nation MMA standout successfully took Hu to the mat, landing a heavy slam and briefly controlling the action on top.

But the momentum suddenly shifted.

Hu escaped from the position near the ropes and reversed the situation on the ground. Once on top, the Chinese fighter unleashed a relentless barrage of punches that visibly rocked Kingad. The referee soon stepped in to halt the fight as the strikes continued.

The victory improved Hu’s professional record to 14–7 and marked the first time Kingad had been knocked out in his MMA career.

For Kingad, the loss dropped his record to 15–6 and extended his losing streak to three fights—dealing a setback to his hopes of climbing back toward the ONE Flyweight MMA World Championship picture, which could have led to a third showdown with Japanese contender Yuya Wakamatsu.

Instead, it was Hu who walked away from Bangkok with a statement victory.
