The M7 World Championship, the seventh edition of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s premier global tournament, once again drew the massive attention of esports fans as it brought together 22 of the world’s top gaming squads in Jakarta, Indonesia, last January 2026.

Teams from different countries competed through multiple stages to chase the championship title with a $1 million prize pool on the line. The event followed a three-phase structure, starting with the Wild Card round, then the Swiss Stage, and finally reaching the Grand Finals.

A Flawless Run to Victory

Competing teams put on their best performances through the intense elimination rounds and successive stages. After a grueling series of matches, Aurora Gaming PH from the Philippines and Alter Ego Sports from Indonesia were the two remaining teams to battle at the grand finals.

During the finals, Aurora started strong in Game 1 after winning against Alter Ego, building an initial momentum through effective team engagements.

Both teams delivered hard-fought matches in the following rounds. While Alter Ego strived to use other strategies to beat the opposing team, Aurora showed both tactical mastery and outstanding plays from their key players. This eventually led them to take the lead over Alter Ego from Games 2 to 4, sweeping them with a clean 4-0.

Beyond the Finals

This victory marked the sixth straight win for the Philippines, with roamer Dylan “Light” Catipon awarded as the Finals MVP. With Aurora Gaming PH’s success, the country extended its dominance on the Mobile Legends competitive scene, as the Filipino teams now carry six of the seven championship titles.

The next M8 World Championship will head to Europe for the first time, with Türkiye hosting the event in January 2027.
