Set in the demanding clay courts of Paris, the French Open 2026 drew the world’s attention once again for the much-awaited second Grand Slam showdown of the year. Across the electrifying weeks of tennis competition, the sport’s biggest names ground their teeth and delivered grueling matches as they battled for one of the most prestigious titles.

The Epic Singles

In the singles championship match, two rising champions seized momentum and finally etched their names in French Open history. Alexander Zverev made a historic win as the new champion in the men’s singles category. The German player defeated Italy’s Flavio Cobolli after the dramatic five-set game, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7(5), and 6-1.

Zverev ended Germany’s 30-year Grand Slam wait, becoming the first male champion since Boris Becker in 1996.

On the other hand, Roland Garros crowned a new champion in the women’s singles as Mirra Andreeva captured her first Grand Slam title. The 19-year-old Russian phenom put on a masterclass performance and outclassed Polish finalist Maja Chwalinska with 6-3, 6-2, leading to her maiden victory in the Grand Slams.

Following her win, Andreeva became the youngest French Open champion since Monica Seles in 1992, emerging as one of tennis’ brightest talents.

Inside the Doubles

In a strong display of teamwork, the men’s doubles trophy went to Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos. They asserted their dominance over the opposing duo, Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten, without dropping a single set throughout the match. With a final score of 6-4, 6-2, Granollers and Zeballos finally captured their title in the French Open.

Meanwhile, the hard-fought women’s doubles final ended with Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend as champions, prevailing after a strong 6–2, 7–5 finish against Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunić.

As the dust settled at Roland-Garros 2026, the tournament closed with a sense of renewal, as fresh faces made history and new records were set. The world now moves to London for the upcoming Wimbledon 2026, scheduled from June 29 to July 12, 2026.
